The Severians — Privacy Policy
Effective: October 28, 2026 (adds rewarded ads from version 0.23; previous versions: October 21 and 12, 2026) · Developer: Serhii Avakin · Contact: [email protected]
Summary
The game does not sell personal data and has no accounts. From version 0.23 it has optional rewarded ads: a video plays only when you tap “×2 (ad)” yourself. Ads are served by Google AdMob (see below). Anonymous game statistics are sent only if you agree (see below). It offers optional in-app purchases (“Brewer’s Charter”, “Thanks pack”); payment is handled entirely by your device’s store — Google Play or the Apple App Store. The developer never sees your payment details, name or address.
Purchases
- Purchases are processed by the store (Google Play Billing or Apple StoreKit) under its own terms and privacy policy: Google, Apple.
- The game only receives a confirmation from the store: which item was bought, when, and the purchase number — to deliver the item, avoid counting it twice and restore it after reinstalling (“Restore purchases”). This data stays on your device in the game save and is not shared with anyone.
- Refunds go through the store; after a refund the game removes the item.
Anonymous statistics (only with your consent)
- The game asks once: “Help make the game better?”. Only if you answer “Yes” does it send anonymous game events: which chapters were completed, where play stopped, what was opened in the Masters’ Market and whether a purchase happened (no payment data), plus the game version, the system name (Android/iOS) and the language.
- Events are tied to a random identifier created by the game itself. It is not an advertising ID or a device ID; the game does not collect your name, email, contacts or location.
- Processor: PostHog Inc. (servers in the EU, Frankfurt); IP addresses are not stored; data is kept for no longer than one year, used only to improve the game, never sold and never used for advertising.
- Turn it off any time: pause → “Anonymous statistics: off”. To delete data already sent, write to [email protected].
Rewarded ads (from version 0.23)
- A video plays only when you choose it: the “×2 (ad)” button in the daily gift or in the “While you were away” report. There are no banners and no ads in the middle of play. With the Brewer’s Charter you get the reward without a video.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). To show and measure ads, the AdMob SDK processes: the device advertising ID (on iOS only if you allow tracking), IP address, device model and OS version, language, app and ad-interaction data, and technical crash data. How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland the game shows Google’s consent form before any ad. Personalised ads are shown only with your consent. Change your choice any time: pause → “Ad settings”.
- You can reset or turn off the advertising ID in your device settings (Android: Google → Ads; iOS: Privacy → Tracking).
- The developer receives no personal data about players from Google, only aggregate reports on impressions and revenue.
What is stored on your device
- Game save (progress, settings, selected language) — only on your device, in the app's data folder. It is removed when you uninstall the game. Your purchases (item, date, store purchase number) are recorded here too.
- Test log — a local technical log of game events (for example, the current chapter, how long the away-time calculation took, device model and OS version). It is never sent automatically. You may copy it with the “Test log: copy” button in the menu and send it to the developer to help with testing.
What the game does NOT do
- it sends none of your data to the developer without your consent (only the store’s purchase service and the Google AdMob ad SDK described above use the network);
- it does not use location, camera, microphone, contacts or files;
- it shows no ads that you did not start yourself;
- it does not track you across other apps or websites.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If a future version adds other data collection, we will update this policy before that version is released and state which data is processed and why.
